On October 2nd Kaveh Ehsani successfully defended his thesis at Leiden University.
“The Social History of Labor in the Iranian Oil Industry, the Built Environment and the Making of the Industrial Working Class (1908-1941)”
His supervisor was Prof. dr T. Atabaki (IISH and Leiden University). His Co-Supervisor was: Prof. dr. M.M. van der Linden (IISH and UvA).
In this research Kaveh Ehsani investigated the social aspects of the establishment of the Iranian oil industry and the formation of an oil working class in the southern province of Khuzestan-Iran, during the first decades of the 20th century.
