Archief Eduardo Mondlane Stichting gereed / Archives Eduardo Mondlane Foundation processed

I finally completed the processing of the archives of the Eduardo Mondlane Foundation (1969-1998) – the last of the archives of Dutch anti-apartheid and southern Africa solidarity groups which came from the Netherlands institute for southern Africa (NiZA) to the International Institute of Social History (IISH) in 2008. The content list (unfortunately in Dutch only) is also available at the IISH-website: http://hdl.handle.net/10622/ARCH03294

The archives contain a lot of information about the Dutch support to the struggle against Postuguese colonialism in (southern) Africa and the developmenty since the mid-1970s of Angola, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau and Cape Verde - not only by the Mondlane Foundation and other organisations but also by many Dutch coöperants (volunteers) who played an important role in this support work.

Besides: since mid-February the IISH website features an exhibition of photographs by Dutch journalist Frits Eisenloeffel (1944-2001), including photographs from Angola, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde, Mozambique and Namibia in the years 1974-1981.
