Coll. Berkman, no. 2
Rumours about disturbances reached the American anarchist Alexander Berkman during his stay in Russia. These disturbances mark the beginning of the Kronstadt rebellion, which the Bolsheviks would viciously suppress.
The text reads: "Rumours that in Moscow strikes broke out at the same time as here in Petrograd. It is claimed that the coincidence of dates on which strikes began here + there is proof, at least one of the proofs, of an organized attempt against the Bolsh[eviks]. It is also rumored that a comm[ittee] of sailors came from Kronstadt to investigate the cause of the workers' dissatisfaction in this city. Impossible to tell what is fact and what fiction."
