'Zonnestraaldag' (Sun Beam day) is a day to collect money for sanatorium Zonnestraal in Hilversum, Holland. This hospital for tuberculosis patients opens officially in 1928. The costs of nursing are three guilders and seventy five cents a day. A novelty is occupational therapy for the patients. Zonnestraal is a creation of the diamond worker Jan van Zutphen with his Copper Wire End Fund. Van Zutphen knew how to make money out of waste products from the diamond industry. The building of glass, iron and concrete designed by architect J. Duiker has become a monument. Duiker designed this poster as well.
