In 2003 the International Labour Organization ILO declared 28 April the World Day for Safety and Health at Work. That same day the world's trade union movement holds its international Commemoration Day for Dead and Injured Workers. The IISH houses an enormous collection of posters about safety at work. They show how graphic design has been used to promote health and safety prevention. Health and safety messages and slogans have evolved, from initially blaming individual workers for accidents and mistakes towards the fostering of a more proactive approach to prevention.
