Visual IISH collection material again online accessible

Starting this week, photos, posters, prints and drawings from the IISH collections are again digitally displayed in the catalogue search.socialhistory.org. Due to a lawsuit over copyright, the material was offline since early 2014. By displaying the visual material, the IISH can again meet one of its main objectives: providing access to material for scientific historical research.

To make this possible, IISH director Henk Wals signed an agreement on June 2nd with Pictoright,  the author’s rights organisation for visual creators.

Agreed is that the IISH, for an annual  fee, is allowed to display on its websites all visual materials in low resolution and in small size.

Material by creators with whom the IISH has made special arrangements are available in a larger size.
