Shortlist Thesis Award 2013

The Shortlist for the Volkskrant-IISH Thesis Award 2013 is known.
Shortlisted are (in alphabetical order):

  • Katharine Manteufel (Universiteit Utrecht), ‘Zullen wij […] Malkanderen de hant niet bieden’ Policies of Asylum Care for the Insane in 17th and 18th-Century Dordrecht.
  • Stefan Penders (Universiteit Leiden), Imperial waters. Roman river god art in context.
  • Tymen Peverelli (Universiteit van Amsterdam), Mensentuin. Nationalisme en de Antwerpse Zoo, 1843-1914.

On 10 December 2013 the winner will be announced.
The ceremony will take place from 5 to 7 pm at the International Institute of Social History, Cruquiusweg 31, 1019 AT Amsterdam. (address)
