‘In-between Dream & Deed’ is the theme for the annual Dutch Month of History, October 2015. The Month of History’s website explains the theme further: ‘In-between Dream & Deed is about achieving ideals. You may think of immigrants who came to the Netherlands with a particular dream, technical progress or great ideologies such as communism or capitalism.’
The IISH hooks up on the theme by organizing two walking tours through Utopian Amsterdam, a symposium about the sharing economy and a collection presentation ‘Naked Utopia’, about nudists and their ideals.
A small selection of the IISH’s latest collection presentations and larger document collections that touch on the subject:
- May Day, Web Expo
- Historisch Beeldarchief Migranten (HBM)
- Staatsarchief, archive of the Squatters Movement
- Provo at 50
- Utopianism in IISH's libary collections
- List of Publications about Utopian Communities
