South African ministers visit the IISH to see the anti-apartheid collection

On March 25th the South African Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms Maite Nkoana-Mashabane and Dikobe Ben Martins, Minister of Energy honoured the IISH with a visit to acquaint themselves with the anti-apartheid and southern Africa collection of the institute. They were accompanied by a large delegation among whom the South African ambassador to the Netherlands, Peter Goosen. The party was hosted by IISH director Henk Wals, other members of the management  and myself as archivist of this collection. The delegation was given a tour of the Institute and looked at some highlights from the anti-apartheid collection of the IISH, including letters by Nelson and Winnie Mandela and publications by 'Broadcasting for Radio Freedom'. After the visit the ambassador hosted a dinner with the delegation and some former anti-apartheid activists in Amsterdam.
