Ho Chi Minh

Ho Chi Minh died on 2 September 1969 in Hanoi. 24 years before, on exactly the same date he had proclaimed the independence of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. In this declaration he blamed the French colonialists that their 'Freedom, Equality, Fraternity' was not applied to Vietnam. In the 1960s Ho once more fought for the freedom of Vietnam, this time against the Americans. His distinctive head continued to figure on posters inside and outside of Vietnam as a symbol of freedom fight.
