ESSHC Conference in Glasgow

From 11 until 14 April, about 1500 scholars from all over the world gather in Glasgow to attend the European Social Science History Conference at Glasgow University.

The IISH has organized this lively conference for the ninth time since 1996. It brings together scholars who are interested in integrating research methods of the social sciences in historiography. Papers are presented and discussed in small groups rather than plenary sessions. 28 expert-chaired networks cover the topics. Subjects discussed range from 'Street Gangs and the Press in Interwar Glasgow' to 'Measuring Economic Performance in Wartime China', from 'Fertility of the Inhabitants of the Parisian Suburbs' to 'Fashion's Encounters with Cannibals', 1450-1650'.
