Op dinsdag 25 september 2012 werd in Den Haag een standbeeld van Nelson Mandela onthuld door o.a. aartsbisschop Desmond Tutu en Mandela's collega en vriend Ahmed Kathrada (wiens persoonlijk archief ik nog heb verwerkt in Kaapstad in 1995). Het beeld is gemaakt door de kunstenaar Arie Schippers. Uiteraard krijgt dit Nelson Mandela monument een plaats op de pagina met eerbewijzen aan Nelson Mandela in het webdossier "Nelson Mandela en Nederland" op de IISG-website:

On Tuesday, September 25, 2012 a statue of Nelson Mandela was unveiled in The Hague by a.o. archbishop Desmond Tutu and Mandela's colleague and friend Ahmed Kathrada (who's personal archive I have been processing in Cape Town in 1995). The statue was made by Dutch sculptor Arie Schippers.
